Material: I used plywood, smooth-sanded, about 3–4mm thick. It takes detail well but can produce some uneven dark spots because of the glue layers inside. Machine: xTool D1 Pro 20W diode laser. Processing Type: Engraving (no cutting). This was a detailed line-art engraving of a bear illustration. Final Result: The engraving came out crisp with strong contrast. The plywood’s grain added a natural texture to the fur lines, and the 20W diode had no trouble capturing the fine detail. Some areas engraved slightly darker due to internal glue pockets, but overall the result was clean, sharp, and visually striking.
