Project Cost Calculator

Work out what a job actually costs you before you quote it. Add your materials, your design and hands-on time, and your machine time, then set a markup — and see the whole picture: the customer total with tax, the wholesale price, and what genuinely lands in your pocket after reserves.

Need something to send the customer? Switch to the Quote Builder — same numbers, formatted as a branded one-page quote.

The customer sees one priced line for this whole product — the cost lines below stay private.

Per-unit costs are multiplied by 1.

Each template adds another product to the quote — pick apparel, then tumblers, and both print. Template prices are typical starting points. Replace them with your real costs.

The set-aside is your own reserve — savings, tithe, a new machine fund. It comes out of net profit in the costing panel and never reaches the customer quote.

Why makers under-charge

Almost always because only the material got counted. The blank was $4, so the item gets priced at $15 and it feels like a win. But the design time, the machine running time, the failed first attempt, the packaging and the platform fees were all real costs, and none of them were in the number. Pricing from material alone is how a busy month still ends up unprofitable.

Machine time is a real cost

Your laser has a finite life in hours. Tubes and diodes degrade, lenses need replacing, and the machine itself has to earn back what you paid for it. Charging an hourly machine rate is not padding the invoice — it is how the next machine gets funded.

Wholesale is not just half price

A wholesale price still has to clear your costs. If your retail number was already thin, halving it puts you underwater on every unit — and wholesale orders are the large ones. Set the wholesale percentage here and check the profit breakdown before you agree to a bulk order.
