Bitmap engraving on a 4.5mm black slate coaster using the S1 (20W) at 220mm/s and 40% power, single pass on baseplate. This was a full bitmap image, not linework — runic knotwork borders, a detailed dragon, and polyhedral dice all rendered through tonal variation on stone. Slate is unforgiving with bitmap because you don't get the clean contrast of two-tone acrylic; everything depends on how the laser modulates power across the surface. These settings gave me clean detail in the fine knotwork and enough tonal range to keep the dragon and dice readable without blowing out the lighter areas.
